OldHue is a photo color‑editing tool. This policy explains how we handle your information when you use this app. We treat “photos stay on-device” as the default setting: uploads occur only when required by a feature and initiated by you, as detailed below.

I. How Photos Are Processed

Default local processing: All reading, color grading, and exporting are performed on your device. Opening the app does not result in any photo uploads.
AI goes online only when you choose to use it: after you select AI filters, AI color grading or AI cropping, or confirm AI shooting suggestions, the app sends an analysis thumbnail (longest edge at most 320 px, with EXIF/GPS removed), your text instructions and the necessary current parameters over HTTPS to the OldHue server, which forwards them to third-party models for analysis. The results are used to return filter, color, crop or shooting suggestions. Xiaomi MiMo handles image analysis; DeepSeek may handle text-only suggestions. Original photos are not uploaded, and the server does not persistently store these images or texts.
Export: The exported file will remove metadata such as EXIF and GPS; color adjustments and exporting are always performed locally on your device.

II. Accounts and Information

Signing in is optional: you can use editing, filters, camera, and export on this device without signing in. Signing in lets you sync presets, use cloud AI, and restore membership on another device. Signing in does not upload your photos.
When you use “Sign In with Apple,” Apple provides an app-specific identifier, the email address you choose to share (which may be Apple’s Hide My Email), and your name, which is only provided during the initial authorization. On our servers, we store this identifier, the email address (if provided), the session token, the device identifiers required for synchronization, and any preset parameters you have saved (filters, intensity, texture, and basic adjustments). We do not store passwords.
Nickname: On your first sign-in, the name provided by Apple is saved as your nickname. You can change it in Account. It is only displayed on your account page.
Profile Picture: Apple does not provide profile pictures, so by default we generate a text-based avatar using the first letter of your nickname. You can manually select an image from your photo library as your profile picture; it will be uploaded as a 256×256 JPEG and stored on our servers, remaining visible even when you log in on another device. If you do not select one, no images will be uploaded.
You can delete your profile picture or your entire account at any time in Account.

III. Device Permissions

Photos: We only access the images you select when you manually tap “Select Photo”; we do not scan or upload your entire photo library. When saving to the photo library, we only write the exported finished image.
Camera: opened only when you choose the camera, for framing, taking photos or Live Photos. Footage is not uploaded automatically.
Microphone: used only to record audio when you capture a Live Photo with sound; the audio stays with the photo on your device. The iOS app has no voice input or voice upload feature.

IV. Data Analysis

The App itself performs no analytics or tracking. Only the website oldhue.cn records anonymous access statistics (using irreversible hashes), solely to verify that features are working properly and to improve the product — not for cross-app tracking or ad targeting.
This app does not request the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not integrate any advertising SDKs.

V. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data (projects and presets) are stored on your device: deleting the corresponding projects or presets, or uninstalling the app, will clear this data.
Your uploaded profile picture is stored on the server until you delete it in Account or delete your entire account.
Requesting account deletion in Account immediately signs out all sessions. Signing in again within 7 days cancels the request (cooling-off period); after that, the account and profile data are deleted from the server. Records that must be retained for billing disputes, fraud prevention or legal obligations are unlinked from the account and kept only for the legally required period.

VI. What We Do Not Do

We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do not use photos for training, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to photo editing.
We do not upload photos unless you actively use the relevant features.

VII. Minors

This app is not intended for children under 13 years of age, nor do we actively collect personal information from children.

VIII. Cross-Border Data Transfers

OldHue runs servers in mainland China (Chengdu) and Japan (Tokyo). When you use an account, sync presets, or use AI features, the relevant data is transmitted between the two: the entry point for mainland China is in Chengdu, while accounts, presets, and the AI forwarding service run in Tokyo.
Original photos always stay on your device and are never uploaded through these transfers; we transmit only the data minimally necessary to provide the feature.

IX. Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases are available only through Apple In-App Purchase: Hue Pro is ¥6/month and auto-renews monthly; the Lifetime purchase is ¥88 as a one-time payment and does not renew. Actual prices and currencies appear on the StoreKit confirmation screen in the app.
You can purchase without signing in; the entitlement is stored on this device first and syncs automatically after you sign in to your OldHue account.
To cancel, open Apple Account Settings → Subscriptions → OldHue. After cancellation, access continues until the end of the current period and no further charges are made.

X. Policy Changes

When this policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date on this page will be refreshed; for significant changes to our processing practices, we will provide a prominent in-app notice.
